Job summary

Global Software Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Engineer to support enterprise Technology Platforms and Data Platforms initiatives. The role emphasizes high availability, performance tuning, and automation of DBA activities across large-scale Oracle environments.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and engineering, and contribute to Agile delivery processes while supporting OCI and AWS cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration within large enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on Oracle DBA experience including RAC and Data Guard.
• Expertise in OEM, RMAN backups, patching/upgrades, and SQL/PLSQL tuning.
• Proficient in Unix/Linux environments and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience automating DBA tasks using Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Groovy.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end Oracle database administration across enterprise environments.
• Support projects involving Oracle platforms, upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Oracle performance and queries.
• Manage RAC and ensure high availability; maintain Data Guard for DR/BC.
• Apply patches, upgrades, and maintenance; perform migrations.
• Backup, recovery, and RMAN operations; monitor with OEM.
• Automate repetitive DBA tasks using scripting and automation tools.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and engineering teams; participate in Agile delivery.
• Provide production support and after-hours/weekend coverage as needed.

The role requires strong experience managing large-scale Oracle environments, supporting critical database platforms, performing optimization activities, and implementing automation solutions to improve operational efficiency. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple technology projects simultaneously, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end Oracle database administration activities across enterprise technology environments
• Support technology projects involving Oracle database platforms, upgrades, migrations, and enhancements
• Perform Oracle database performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization
• Conduct SQL tuning, database tuning, and performance improvement activities
• Manage Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments and ensure high availability
• Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard environments for disaster recovery and business continuity
• Perform database patching, upgrades, maintenance, and release activities
• Execute database migration activities across different environments
• Manage backup, recovery, and restore activities using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
• Monitor and manage Oracle environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Automate repetitive Oracle DBA operational tasks using automation tools and scripting
• Develop automation workflows using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Groovy
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, DevOps, and engineering teams for database-related activities
• Support cloud-based database environments including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS
• Participate in Agile delivery processes, sprint planning, and technology initiatives
• Provide production support and participate in planned after-hours/weekend activities when required
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining delivery quality and operational stability
