Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Consultant to manage enterprise Oracle databases, ensure security, performance, and availability, and drive modernization across on‑premises and cloud environments in Bengaluru, India.

You will administer RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and RMAN, lead migrations, and design automation with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting. Collaboration with application and infra teams is essential to maintain SLAs and robust services.

Qualifications

  • 13-15 years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration and Support in large enterprises.
  • Oracle Database technologies including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN, performance tuning, upgrades.
  • Experience implementing DevOps and automation with Terraform, Ansible, Python, Shell scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven experience supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, and OCI cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Oracle Database Consultant


Evaluates new database technologies and tools in the industry. Sets database system administration and programming standards, applies database technology to business problems, manages development and production database environments with emphasis on security, availability, and performance. Determines appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization. Creates sustainable and maintainable tools to automate database provisioning, patching, monitoring, metrics, maintenance, and administration.


What you’ll achieve

As a Oracle Database Consultant within the Enterprise Infrastructure and Database Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, security, and modernization of enterprise-scale Oracle database environments. You will leverage your expertise in Oracle technologies, automation, cloud platforms, and modern operational practices to drive database transformation initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and support mission‑critical business applications.


You will:


  • Administer, support, and optimize Oracle database environments, including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and Multitenant architectures, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

  • Lead database modernization, upgrade, migration, disaster recovery, and cloud adoption initiatives across on‑premises and cloud‑hosted Oracle workloads.

  • Design and implement automation solutions using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), scripting, and DevOps practices to streamline database operations and deployments.

  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and platform teams to support mission‑critical systems, resolve complex production issues, and maintain service‑level commitments.

  • Utilize monitoring, observability, and AI‑driven operational capabilities to enhance reliability, capacity planning, incident management, and continuous service improvement.

Essential Requirements


  • 13-15 years of hands‑on experience in Oracle Database Administration and Support within large enterprise environments.

  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database technologies, including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN, performance tuning, upgrades, and migrations.

  • Experience implementing DevOps and automation practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, Shell Scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Proven experience supporting high‑availability, disaster recovery, and cloud‑based Oracle database environments, particularly Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills with the ability to manage critical production environments.


QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable Requirements


  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM), OCI Cloud, DevOps, or related certifications; Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience with AI/AIOps platforms, observability tools, and intelligent automation capabilities for database and infrastructure operations.
