Job summary

Softenger is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our Mumbai team. The role focuses on Oracle DB administration, high availability, and performance tuning in a Banking/Financial Services environment.

Ideal candidates have 6–10 years of Oracle DBA experience, 6–8+ years Oracle DB exposure, and hands-on expertise in RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and Exadata. Willingness to work in a 24x7 support environment is required.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related field with relevant Oracle DBA expertise.
• Experience in Banking/Financial Services domain is mandatory.
• Hands-on with Oracle 11g/12c and newer, RAC/ASM/Data Guard, Exadata, and RMAN.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle Database environments.
• Perform database performance tuning at query, database, and memory levels.
• Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, Exadata, backup, and high availability.
• Implement and support HA/DR architectures and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Dev and Infra teams to resolve complex DB issues.
• Identify automation opportunities and drive proactive improvements.
• Maintain database security and compliance with enterprise standards.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Oracle Database administration, performance tuning, high availability solutions, and hands‑on experience in the Banking/Financial Services domain.

Experience

• 6–10 years of relevant Oracle DBA experience
• Banking/Financial Services domain experience is mandatory
• Relevant Oracle Database experience: 6–8+ years

Location : Mumbai (Work from Office)

Shift :

• Must be willing to work in a 24x7 support environment

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle Database environments.
• Perform database performance tuning at the query, database, and memory levels.
• Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, Exadata, Backup & Recovery, and High Availability solutions.
• Implement and support Oracle Database High Availability and Disaster Recovery architectures.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Support mission‑critical production databases with high availability and minimal downtime.
• Manage escalated technical issues and drive timely resolution.
• Collaborate with Development and Infrastructure teams to resolve complex database issues.
• Identify opportunities for automation and proactive database improvements.
• Maintain database security and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Oracle Database 11g, 12c, and newer versions.
• Expert knowledge of:

• RMAN (Backup & Recovery)
• AWR/ASH Performance Diagnostics

• Strong SQL and database performance tuning expertise.
• Experience managing large-scale OLTP databases with high transaction volumes.
• Experience administering multi‑terabyte Oracle databases.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Shell, Python, or Ansible.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of production support processes and incident management.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Oracle database security technologies:
• Oracle Database Vault
• Oracle Key Vault
• Oracle AVDF
• Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
• Oracle OCP DBA Certification.
• Experience implementing database automation and operational best practices.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree (MS/M.Tech) is an added advantage.
• Oracle OCP DBA Certification is preferred.
