Job description

We are looking for a Senior Oracle DBA to maintain and support critical database systems 24x7. Experience required: 7+ years.

Notice: Immediate – 15 days.

Responsibilities

• Database Design and Architecture: Collaborate with architects, application developers, and stakeholders to design and implement scalable, high-performance database solutions that meet business requirements and align with organizational goals.
• Database Administration: Manage all aspects of the Oracle database including installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and maintenance.
• Develop DB build processes on EC2, On‑Premise, and RDS platforms using pipelines.
• Performance tuning to ensure all databases operate efficiently; implement index optimization, SQL tuning, and other measures to enhance application performance.
• Database/application monitoring: Provide and implement monitoring solutions using tools such as OEM and Datadog; write reports using OEM BI Publisher.
• Capacity Planning: Forecast database growth and resource utilization to ensure sufficient storage, CPU, and memory for current and future workloads.
• Database Security: Implement and maintain security measures, including user authentication, access control, and encryption.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement solutions; manage RAC and Data Guard.
• Patch Management and Upgrades: Apply patches, fixes, and upgrades to address security vulnerabilities, bugs, and performance enhancements.
• Monitoring and Alerting: Set up tools and alerts to proactively identify and resolve database/application issues and prevent service disruptions.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure databases comply with regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA; generate required reports with OEM.
• Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Investigate and resolve database/application incidents and outages in a timely manner, collaborating with other IT teams as needed.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends; recommend best practices and automation opportunities to streamline database management.
• Expertise in managing multiple Oracle 11g, 12c, and 19c databases on medium‑to‑large systems.
• Expertise in managing databases in Exadata with ASM management.
• Knowledge of TDE, SSL, TLS, and other database security features.
• Experience with RMAN/OEM.
• Experience with Golden Gate replication configuration and administration.
• Experience with high‑availability features – Oracle Data Guard and RAC.
• Good working knowledge of other RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) and NoSQL.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a team.
• 24x7 on‑call support on a rotational basis.
