Job summary

insightsoftware seeks an experienced Senior DBA to join our global team. The role focuses on Oracle 19c+ administration, plus MS SQL and PostgreSQL management, under Linux, with emphasis on security, performance, and DR planning.

You will lead infrastructure design, automation, and enterprise-scale deployments, while mentoring junior DBAs and ensuring compliance with SOC2/ISO27001.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle 19c+ administration experience.
• 3+ years of MS SQL 2012+ and PostgreSQL administration.
• Hands-on with SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools.
• Strong PL/SQL coding, debugging, and optimization skills.
• Proficient in Linux system administration and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of security, infrastructure design, and compliance.
• Experience with high-availability databases (clustering, replication, failover).

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle databases on RHEL/OEL in physical/virtual environments.
• Provide DBA services to development, services, and support teams including design and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot alerts, logs, jobs, and tablespaces; resolve performance issues.
• Automate database tasks and develop efficiency-enhancing scripts.
• Lead database infrastructure design and security policy enforcement.
• Ensure SOC2/ISO27001 compliance and audit readiness.
• Design, implement, and validate DR methodologies and RMAN backups.
• Mentor junior DBAs and guide PL/SQL best practices.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support and monitor with tools like DataDog, SolarWinds, OEM.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The role requires 10+ years of hands‑on experience as an Oracle Administrator and at least 3+ years of experience with MS SQL and PostgreSQL to maintain a reliable, scalable, and fault‑tolerant database infrastructure for our growing customer base.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Support

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot RHEL/OEL OS supporting Oracle databases in physical and virtualized environments.
• Provide DBA services to application development, professional services, and support teams, including database design, query validation/execution, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot database alerts, logs, jobs, disk groups, tablespaces, and resolve performance‑related issues.
• Automate database tasks and develop scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Infrastructure & Security

• Lead the design and implementation of database infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.
• Manage the implementation of technical controls to enforce security policies.
• Ensure compliance with SOC2/ISO27001 audits and adhere to all audited controls.

Backup & Disaster Recovery (DR)

• Design, implement, and maintain DR methodologies, ensuring documentation is up to date.
• Periodically validate Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations using RMAN.
• Document and maintain disaster recovery plans for each supported system.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Research, evaluate, design, test, and recommend new database software versions and related tools.
• Act as a mentor for junior DBAs and provide technical guidance.
• Assist development teams in improving database design and PL/SQL best practices.

On‑Call & Availability

• Provide 24/7 on‑call rotational support, including occasional weekend coverage.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like DataDog, Solarwinds, site24/7 or OEM.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with Oracle 19c+ administration.
• 3+ years of experience with MS SQL 2012+ and PostgreSQL.
• Hands‑on experience using Solarwinds as a monitoring tool is essential.
• Strong expertise in PL/SQL coding, debugging, and query optimization.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and bash scripting.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure SQL, and PowerShell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, security best practices, and compliance.
• Experience with high‑availability database solutions (clustering, replication, failover strategies).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
