Job summary

Wipro is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to manage 24x7 production support for Oracle databases with strong RAC, Dataguard, and RMAN expertise. The role includes DR planning, performance tuning, and guiding a database team.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with Oracle 12c/19c versions, OEM monitoring, and cloud knowledge. The position involves onsite work across Pune, Hyderabad, and Bangalore with potential PostgreSQL exposure.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of Oracle concepts like RAC, Dataguard and GoldenGate.
• Expertise in 12c/19c versions and OEM for monitoring and administration.
• Build, deploy and implement solutions; perform capacity and DR planning.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and provide permanent fixes.
• Expertise in RMAN backup, restore and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 24x7 production support for Oracle databases and PostgreSQL (preferred).
• Lead database team during crisis calls; participate in MIR and PIR.
• Mentor team members and drive high availability and replication setups.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop self-healing processes.
• Provide consultancy for complex setups and disaster recovery planning.
• Understand PostgreSQL architecture, storage, and backup strategies.
• Ensure security, access control and adherence to best practices.

Principal responsibilities

• The job holder is responsible for technical delivery of 24x7 production support to Oracle and Postgres(preferred) databases and work as a Subject Matter Expert for the production support team.
• Expertise in Oracle RAC and Database
• Perform troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis and provide permanent fixes.
• EXPERT knowledge in Investigate and provide solutions to database performance related issues in Oracle Database.
• Lead Database team in crisis calls, participate in MIR and PIR calls, also mentor team members.
• Experience and expertise in maintaining complex High Availability & Replication setups.
• Provide consultancy for complex setups and Disaster Recovery
• Identify automation and Self-Healing opportunities and develop automation to reduce manual efforts and standardize processes.
• Knowledge on PostgreSQL architecture, background processes, and storage structure.
• Knowledge of database objects such as schemas, tables, indexes, constraints, and partitioning.
• Knowledge of transaction management, locking, and concurrency control.
• In Postgres Basic performance monitoring concepts including query behaviour and database growth management.
• Knowledge of role-based access control, authentication methods, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with production support processes and incident handling in PostgreSQL environments
