Job summary

Wipro in India seeks an experienced Oracle DBA to manage 24x7 production environments across Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN and performance tuning for 12c/19c. The role emphasizes high availability, DR planning, and seamless upgrades in production.

Candidates will also handle PostgreSQL, Oracle Cloud, Unix/Linux, and automation/DevOps tooling, collaborating with agile teams to deliver reliable database solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of Oracle concepts like RAC, Dataguard & OGG.
• Expertise in 12c/19c versions and OEM for monitoring and management.
• Build, deploy and implement solutions; perform capacity and DR planning.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and provide permanent fixes.
• RMAN backup/restore/recovery expertise.
• Role swap, failover planning and implementation.
• Database space management expertise.
• Upgrades and migrations of Oracle databases.
• PostgreSQL experience and cloud knowledge are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 24x7 production support for Oracle and Postgres databases as SME.
• Lead crisis calls, participate in MIR/PIR, mentor team members.
• Investigate performance issues and provide permanent fixes.
• Maintain high availability and replication setups; disaster recovery consultancy.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual work.
• Support PostgreSQL architecture and storage structures.

Principal responsibilities

• The job holder is responsible for technical delivery of 24x7 production support to Oracle and Postgres(preferred) databases and work as a Subject Matter Expert for the production support team.
• Expertise in Oracle RAC and Database
• Perform troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis and provide permanent fixes.
• EXPERT knowledge in Investigate and provide solutions to database performance related issues in Oracle Database.
• Lead Database team in crisis calls, participate in MIR and PIR calls, also mentor team members.
• Experience and expertise in maintaining complex High Availability & Replication setups.
• Provide consultancy for complex setups and Disaster Recovery
• Identify automation and Self-Healing opportunities and develop automation to reduce manual efforts and standardize processes.
• Knowledge on PostgreSQL architecture, background processes, and storage structure.
• Knowledge of database objects such as schemas, tables, indexes, constraints, and partitioning.
• Knowledge of transaction management, locking, and concurrency control.
• In Postgres Basic performance monitoring concepts including query behaviour and database growth management.
• Knowledge of role-based access control, authentication methods, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with production support processes and incident handling in PostgreSQL environments
