Lenskart in Mumbai seeks a dedicated Optometrist to deliver top-notch eye testing and customer service in our stores. You will perform competent eye examinations, explain results, and recommend suitable eyewear while ensuring a superior customer experience.

The role emphasizes accurate diagnoses, sales support, and maintaining store standards with a focus on customer delight and post-test follow-up. You will report to the Store Manager and collaborate with the retail team.

Qualifications

Majority of Lenskart eye-frames and prescription lenses are designed in-house and come to consumer

directly from manufacturing to retail. Post a spectacle order is received, each frame is individually

fitted with the respective prescription in company’s own in-house state-of-the-art (first in India)

manufacturing facility, before it is dispatched. By owning the process end to end, company not only

provides 1 year warranty on all products sold but also a significant 50% price benefit over any other

optical chain in India.

Lenskart raised its first round of funding of 22 Cr INR from IDG Ventures India (IDGVI) in 2011. When

company was selling 30 specs a day online. In 2013, when company was selling nearly 200 specs online

per day, Ronnie Screwvala led Unilazer Ventures, along with IDG again, invested around INR 53 crores in

the company. Today Lenskart is making nearly 2000 specs a day shipped pan India and has so far

shipped over 10 Lac specs across the country. Company has recently raised Private equity investment

from TPG Growth of 22 million USD to fulfill its vision to be India’s Number One eyewear provider by

2016.

Role: Optometrist

Position Summary

The incumbent shall be responsible providing the best customer experience in our

stores by ensuring high standards of eye testing quality.

Reporting Relationship

Would be directly reporting to Store Manager

Key Responsibilities

Commitment to Customer Satisfaction

Always putting the customers’ needs first.

Conducting competent and knowledgeable eye test.

Greeting customers immediately when they enter store. Shows urgency in providing service to

customers and satisfying their needs friendly and high customers’ service oriented eye test.

Building a strong relationship with customers by engaging the customers by explaining the Eye

Exam Process.

Exploring the underlying reasons for recurring customer problems and also going the extra mile to

find the solutions.

Anticipating the problems before they occur and having a plan of action for them at store level

Eye Test Quality Assurance and Sales

Examine eyes, using observation, and instruments, to determine visual acuity and perception,

focus and coordination

Responsible for converting the prospective customers into actual customers.

Ensure all customers receive accurate diagnosis and appropriate recommendations.

Effective communication with all retail associates to ensure seamless customer experience

Inventory Management

Having the basic understanding of the POS system to ensure transactions are properly and

effectively processed

Working very closely with various departments in the organization till the product reaches the

customer

Approaching customers and keeping the store neatly stacked to avoid shrinkage

Security & Hygiene

Ensuring the store and the inventory is neat and clean at all times

Maintaining the necessary safety measures in ensuring the safety of the store and customers

Employees at store level, engaging in the customer experience need to be properly groomed and

presentable to the customer. Uniforms need to be neat and clean and pressed.

Competencies & Educational Qualifications: -

Diploma/Degree/Post Graduate Degree holder in Optometry with minimum 0-3 years of relevant

experience in the industry.
