Job summary

Obox HR Solutions seeks a General Manager (Projects & Operations) to lead multiple industrial construction projects from Aminjikarai, Chennai. 5 days a week, 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, degree in engineering required with MBA preferred. Must have 20–30 years in industrial construction and 10+ years in leadership overseeing large projects.

Roles include project execution, profitability, client satisfaction, resource management, and business growth across India.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree is required.
• MBA/PGDM in Operations, Project Management, or Business Management (Preferred).
• Experience: 20 to 30 years in industrial construction projects.
• Minimum 10 years in a leadership role managing large-scale construction projects.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, automotive, FMCG, warehouse, pharmaceutical, or engineering facility projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple industrial construction projects.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Drive operational excellence and improve project productivity across all project sites.
• Monitor project schedules, cost control, resource utilization, and overall project performance.
• Review and manage project budgets, cash flows, profitability, and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.
• Participate in project reviews, client meetings, contract negotiations, and strategic decision-making.
• Oversee contract administration, change orders, claims management, and risk mitigation activities.
• Ensure effective deployment of manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and construction resources.
• Lead project planning and controls functions, including scheduling and progress monitoring.
• Drive implementation of HSE and Quality Management Systems.
• Provide leadership and guidance to Project Directors, Project Managers, and functional teams.
• Develop succession plans and mentor high-potential employees within the organization.
• Identify opportunities for business growth, repeat business, and operational improvements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies.
• Prepare and present business and project performance reports to senior management.
• Support tender reviews, project feasibility assessments, and business development initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and organizational performance.
