Job Description Dry Blending Operator

Purpose of the Role

The Blending Operator is responsible for the accurate weighing, blending, inventory management, and timely preparation of raw materials as per approved formulations. The role ensures uninterrupted production by maintaining product quality, inventory accuracy, safety, and 5S standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect raw materials as per the production schedule and approved Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Accurately weigh all raw materials, additives, colorants, and fillers according to the approved formulation.
  • Prepare and verify blends before releasing them to production.
  • Ensure timely availability of blended materials to prevent production downtime.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, additives, and packaging materials in the blending area.
  • Perform material receipt, issue, and inventory transactions in SAP with complete accuracy.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory verification and report any discrepancies immediately.
  • Ensure correct material identification, labeling, traceability, and batch documentation.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Prepare blends in advance to support faster grade changeovers and improve line utilization.
  • Prevent material mix-ups, contamination, and weighing errors by strictly following SOPs.
  • Maintain compliance with quality standards, EHS requirements, SOPs, and 5S practices.
  • Report any equipment, material, process, or quality abnormalities to the Production Supervisor.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Qualification
  • Diploma in Plastics Technology / Polymer Technology from CIPET/ Diploma in Electrical
  • Freshers may apply.
  • Experienced candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in polymer compounding, plastics processing, or extrusion operations.
Candidate Expectations
  • Minimum 70% academic score in Diploma.
  • Good knowledge of polymer materials, extrusion, and compounding processes.
  • Understanding of raw material handling, ingredient weighing, and blending operations.
  • SAP, SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in rotating shifts.
  • Self-disciplined with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and 5S.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve technical and operational skills.
