Job summary

UPL Limited is looking for a Field Operator - Production (Formulation) at our Dahej site. You will perform formulation, blending, dilution, mixing and packing operations according to Batch Manufacturing Records and SOPs.

You will weigh and charge raw materials, operate mixers and packing lines, and support product changeovers. Adherence to GMP, SHE rules and thorough documentation are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out formulation, blending, dilution, mixing and packing as per BMR.
• Charge raw materials according to batch sheets and SOPs.
• Operate and monitor mixers, blenders, milling systems and filling lines.
• Ensure accurate weighing and addition of raw materials.
• Assist in batch preparation, product transfer and packaging.
• Support startup, shutdown and product changeover activities.
• Follow plant safety rules, use PPE and report hazards immediately.
• Comply with GMP, SOPs and traceability requirements.
• Record batch details, material usage and production output.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and readiness; assist maintenance when needed.
• Verify packing material, ensure correct labeling and traceability.
• Maintain tidy packing and production areas in line with 5S.

Field Operator - Production (Formulation)

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Operations

• Carry out formulation, blending, dilution, mixing, and packing operations as per Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR).
• Charge raw materials according to approved batch sheets and SOPs.
• Operate and monitor mixers, blenders, milling systems, transfer pumps, storage tanks, filling machines, and packing lines.
• Ensure accurate weighing and addition of raw materials.
• Assist in batch preparation, product transfer, and packaging activities.
• Support startup, shutdown, and product changeover activities.

2. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

• Follow all plant safety rules, SOPs, and Permit-to-Work requirements.
• Use prescribed PPE while handling hazardous chemicals.
• Report unsafe conditions, spills, leakages, and near misses immediately.
• Participate in emergency response drills and safety training programs.
• Ensure safe handling of pesticides, solvents, surfactants, and additives.

3. Quality Compliance

• Follow Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Verify raw material identity before charging.
• Collect process samples as instructed by Quality Control.
• Prevent product contamination, cross-contamination, and mix-ups.
• Report any deviation affecting product quality.

4. Equipment Operation & Maintenance

• Conduct routine inspection of equipment and utilities.
• Identify abnormal equipment conditions and report them promptly.
• Assist maintenance teams during preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure equipment cleanliness and readiness before production.

5. Packing Operations

• Perform filling, sealing, labeling, batch coding, and packing activities.
• Verify packing materials before use.
• Ensure correct product labeling and traceability.
• Maintain packing line efficiency and minimize rejection.

6. Housekeeping & 5S

• Maintain cleanliness of production and packing areas.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
• Follow 5S and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Keep work areas free from spills and obstructions.

7. Documentation

• Maintain operational logbooks and checklists.
• Record batch details, material usage, production output, and observations.
• Participate in shift handover and takeover.
• Report production, quality, or safety issues to the Shift Incharge.
