Basic Function
- Ensure each shift complies with HSE regulations and site rules, supporting achievement of the Goal Zero target.
- Ensure smooth line operations while maintaining production machines.
- Manage and control production activities to meet customer requirements for quality, quantity, and delivery, while maintaining high plant safety standards and promoting employee awareness in coordination with other departments.
- Maintain and continuously improve individual and departmental KPIs month over month.
- Execute process orders, manage inventory, and perform required cross-checks.
- Conduct team training based on the skill matrix and identified gaps.
- Ensure adherence to QMS, EMS, and GMP requirements.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Adhere to HSE regulations during daily shift operations by right use of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE), reporting near miss and Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) to support Goal Zero target.
- Follow and implement the permit system as per the company Operations Excellence (OE) standard.
- Perform production activities according to Production Planning and Delivery Schedule (PPDS) to achieve on-time delivery of finished goods.
- Follow and maintain line processing conditions with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and report any deviations or corrections on time.
- Ensure zero customer complaints by producing defect-free products, monitoring and measuring parameters, reporting abnormalities with corrective action or root cause analysis (RCA), and resolving with the help of production supervisor to meet the On-Time In-Full (OTIF) target.
- Support reduction of scrap and off-spec generation by optimizing process changes, tracking daily scrap, rework and downtime, reconciling material as per process order (PO), and reporting to supervisor/manager and seeking guidance if required.
- Execute production changeover activities safely with effective planning to reduce process downtime and train team to improve productivity.
- Maintain and perform timely maintenance of production main and downstream equipment, support identification of CAPEX projects / debottlenecking with help of Supervisor/Manager, initiate and anticipate Management of Control (MOC) needs and complete all actions on time.
- Handle finished goods with proper packaging and labeling, manage shop floors with right material to deliver, and work closely with Logistics and QA to avoid any customer complaint.
- Update daily, weekly, and monthly reports to maintain documentation and validate data each month for correct reporting on time.
- Maintain housekeeping, dust reduction drive and 5S, operation clean sweep (OCS) drive, and support LEAN methodology.
- Support other site functions like Maintenance, QA, Logistics, and PAD for new product development.
- Maintain material handling equipment to ensure smooth material transfer.
- Assist Production Supervisor / Production Manager to maintain all Standards like ISO 9001, 14001, GMP.
- Support value creation (Value Enhancement Program) and Lean initiatives to improve profitability.
- Maintain all data with confidentiality as per LYB Data privacy and retention policy.
Qualification
Diploma / Degree in Plastic Technology or Plastic Processing & Testing from a reputed college or university.
Work Experience
7 to 9 years from color masterbatch or compounding industry with hands-on experience on extrusion lines and allied equipment. Knowledge of extruder operations and troubleshooting, product corrections and adjustments, feeders operations along with environment control equipment such as DCS/FES and utility.
