Aerem is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own warehousing, invoicing and logistics in a fast-growing startup in Mumbai. The role requires uniting cross-functional teams, building SOPs, driving cost savings, and ensuring scalable processes.

This is a 24x7 operating environment demanding hands-on leadership. The ideal candidate should have GST knowledge, data-driven mindset, and experience with inventory reconciliation and ERP/Zoho systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own warehouse operations across multiple locations and drive performance of third-party partners.
• Lead invoicing and order processing, ensuring accurate GST invoicing and timely TATs.
• Lead logistics and dispatch, optimize TAT and costs, handle escalations.
• Build SOPs, KPIs and SLAs across operations and oversee cost improvements.
• Develop data-driven inventory management with reconciliation and dashboards.
• Coordinate supply and demand to align stock, dispatch capability and commitments.

We are looking for an Operations Manager who can take complete ownership of our operations across warehousing, invoicing and logistics.

We already have individual teams handling each function. We need someone who can bring these teams together, build strong processes, improve productivity, reduce costs and make the entire operation run better.

This is a 24 x 7 operating business and not a 9-to-5 role. Dispatches, vehicles and operational issues dont always follow office timings. We need someone who is comfortable operating in that environment.

What you will own-

1. Warehouse Operations

• Manage warehouse teams across multiple locations.
• Work closely with our third-party warehouse partners and drive their performance.
• Build and implement SOPs for inwarding, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Ensure daily inventory discipline and accurate physical vs system stock.
• Own inventory reconciliation, identify variances and drive closure of discrepancies.
• Build processes to reduce inventory leakages, damages, ageing and operational losses.
• Improve warehouse productivity while continuously looking for cost efficiencies.

2. Invoicing & Order Processing

• Lead the invoicing/order processing team.
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing within defined TATs.
• Strong practical understanding of GST, e-way bills, invoicing and movement of goods is a must.
• Ensure smooth flow from order confirmation invoicing dispatch.
• Identify bottlenecks and build processes to eliminate recurring issues.

3. Logistics & Dispatch

• Lead the logistics team and transporter coordination.
• Ensure timely vehicle placement, dispatch and delivery.
• Improve logistics TAT, service levels and transportation costs.
• Handle operational escalations, including late dispatches and vehicle issues.

4. Process & Cost Improvement

• Build processes from scratch where required.
• Create SOPs, KPIs and SLAs across operations.
• Continuously identify operational inefficiencies and cost leakages.
• Drive measurable improvements in warehouse, invoicing and logistics costs.
• Build a scalable operating structure as business volumes increase.

5. Data & Inventory Management

A strong data-driven approach is extremely important for this role.

You should be comfortable using data to:

• Track inventory movement and reconciliation.
• Identify stock variances and ageing.
• Measure warehouse and logistics productivity.
• Track order-to-dispatch TAT.
• Identify cost leakages.
• Build dashboards and operational MIS.
• Take decisions based on numbers rather than assumptions.

Inventory reconciliation and process discipline are non-negotiable.

6. Supply Demand Coordination

• Act as the operating bridge between Supply and Demand teams.
• Ensure demand commitments are aligned with stock availability and dispatch capability.
• Resolve issues around inventory, allocation, dispatches and customer commitments.
• Coordinate closely with Supply, Demand, Finance, Sales and Procurement.
• Ensure problems are solved rather than passed from one team to another.

We want an operator, not a coordinator.

Someone who:

• Has strong experience in operations, supply chain, fulfilment, warehouse or logistics.
• Has practical GST knowledge.
• Has hands-on experience with inventory reconciliation and inventory management.
• Has managed teams and third-party warehouse partners.
• Can build processes and SOPs from scratch.

• Understands Zoho / ERP / inventory management systems.
