Job summary

Mayursales is seeking an Operations & Strategy Lead to act as the chief liaison between the promoter/MD and the factory floor. Stationed on-site at the manufacturing facility in Hooghly, West Bengal, you will ensure strict execution of management directives and monitor KPIs across production and utilities.

You will bridge customer dispatches, receivables, and working capital needs while coordinating business development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Full-time MBA with Operations, SCM, or General Management.
• Engineering degree (Mechanical/Chemical) or B.Pharm preferred.

The Operations & Strategy Lead acts as the chief liaison and operational bridge between the Promoter/Managing Director and the factory floor. Stationed permanently at the plant, this person ensures strict execution of management directives, monitors operational and financial KPIs across production and utilities, tracks customer dispatches and receivables, and coordinates business development initiatives.

This is a high-ownership operational role for a commercially sharp operator who wants to learn how to run a mid-market industrial manufacturing enterprise.

Location: On-site daily at Manufacturing Facility, Hooghly, West Bengal

Reporting To: Managing Director / Promoter

Working Relationship: Works alongside the Plant Head, QA/QC Lead, and Commercial Accounts Team

Experience Level: 3-6 years post-MBA (or equivalent operational experience)

Key Responsibilities

1. Promoter Cockpit & Daily Plant Governance

• Review and validate the Daily Production Report (DPR) generated by the plant team
• Independently flag operational anomalies, line stoppages, unapproved material consumption, or safety/maintenance lapses directly to the Managing Director.
• Track the daily utility consumption and performance metrics of the HVAC systems, chillers, and newly commissioned heat pump systems against baseline power targets.
• Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs), company policies, and management directives are rigorously implemented across the shop-floor staff.
• Prepare monthly executive MIS presentations detailing gross margins, direct cost breakdowns, debtor aging, and capacity utilisation trends for promoter review.

2. Commercial Coordination, Dispatches & Working Capital

• Act as the daily bridge between customer orders and plant production schedules, ensuring priority batches for key institutional accounts are produced and packaged on schedule.
• Track raw material inventory levels and reconcile daily consumption against purchasing ledgers to prevent stockouts or over-procurement.
• Coordinate daily logistics, freight haulers, and e-way billing for on-time dispatches to formulation hubs in North, West, and East India.
• Assist the Managing Director in monitoring customer ledger aging, coordinating with client procurement desks to resolve dispatch disputes, and ensuring customer collection cycles remain strictly within the targeted 60-90 day window.

3. Business Development & Sales Enablement

• Handle inbound sales inquiries, coordinate commercial price quotations and track customer sampling for line trials.
• Actively manage the commercial follow-up for export vendor qualifications (coordinating regulatory documentation, sample logistics, and questionnaire completion)
• Liaise with in-country indenters, domestic sales reps, and customer procurement teams to resolve commercial, invoicing, or packaging grievances before they elevate.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Education: Full-time MBA (Operations, Supply Chain, or General Management) from a reputable institute. A prior Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or B.Pharm is a distinct advantage.
• Experience: 3-6 years of operational experience in a manufacturing plant environment, industrial B2B enterprise, supply chain role, or as an EA to a Promoter/CXO in an industrial setup.

• Diplomatic Authority: Capable of auditing plant floor performance and asking tough questions without creating destructive friction with the experienced technical Plant Head.
• Commercial & Financial Acumen: Strong fluency in P&L basics, working capital cycles, debtor aging, and spreadsheet-based operational modeling.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Bengali (essential for daily communication with the local shop-floor team and local contractors); working Hindi proficiency preferred for interstate client handling.
