Job summary

Decorpot Pvt Limited in Karnataka seeks a General Manager Manufacturing to lead all plant operations. Based at the anchor factory in Malur with regular travel to 45 factories, you will standardise processes, drive safety, quality and cost across units, and guide the design and ramp-up of the upcoming Industry 4.0 automated plant.

You will own end-to-end manufacturing with KPIs on throughput, OEE, and on-time delivery; implement common SOPs, lead a large workforce including contract labour,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; MBA preferred.
• 18–25 years in manufacturing with 5+ years in multi-plant leadership.
• Experience with Industry 4.0 or smart-factory projects.
• Willingness to travel extensively across sites.

Responsibilities

All manufacturing units (currently 45 factories) + the upcoming Industry 4.0 automated plant

ROLE SUMMARY

Lead all of Decorpot's manufacturing as the single accountable head of factory operations. Anchored at one plant and travelling regularly to the others, standardise operations, quality, cost, safety and delivery across every unit and lead the design, build and ramp-up of the upcoming Industry 4.0 automated facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own manufacturing end-to-end: single point of accountability for output, quality, cost, delivery and safety across all factories.
• Standardise across units: drive one common set of processes, SOPs and KPIs production, quality, maintenance, stores, dispatch so every plant runs to the same standard.
• Drive throughput, OEE & quality: own capacity utilisation, machine uptime, on-time production and defect / site-snag reduction; build a zero-defect culture and eliminate bottlenecks.
• Lead a large workforce: direct and contract labour across plants productivity, shift systems, skilling, industrial and employee relations, and discipline.
• Cost, safety & compliance: drive material yield, wastage, conversion cost and energy efficiency; enforce EHS and full statutory compliance (Factories Act, pollution, labour) across every site.
• Lead the Industry 4.0 agenda: conceive, design, commission and ramp the new automated plant MES, IoT, robotics / automation, and data-driven shop-floor operations.
• Capacity, CAPEX & bench: plan capacity and commission machinery / new lines; own the manufacturing CAPEX case; hire, mentor and build succession depth among plant heads.
• Cross-functional & governance: align manufacturing with sales demand, design, SCM / dispatch and procurement; run site reviews and publish MIS to leadership.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Industrial); MBA a plus.
• Experience: 1825 years in manufacturing, with 5+ years as a multi-plant / works head managing a large (500+) direct and contract workforce.
• Industry: open to automobile / auto-components, white goods, building materials (plywood / laminate / tiles) or modular furniture manufacturing-leadership and automation depth valued above furniture pedigree; high-mix / make-to-order preferred.
• Technical: strong in lean / TPM / Six Sigma, OEE, quality systems and modern production machinery; hands-on shop-floor command.
• Industry 4.0: demonstrated experience conceiving or running automated / smart-factory operations (MES, IoT, robotics, analytics).
• Leadership: proven at large-workforce and IR / ER management and multi-site coordination; willing to travel extensively to all plants.
• Behavioural: hands-on, data-driven, cost-conscious, and a builder who can set one standard across many sites.
