Job summary

Procurio is seeking an Operations Associate in Bengaluru to own supplier sourcing, order execution, and export documentation. You will qualify manufacturers, negotiate terms, and ensure on-time shipments with proper paperwork. The role requires a hands-on engineer who reads drawings and understands part fabrication.

You will visit supplier facilities and maintain a clean supplier database. You will work directly with the founder in a fast-growing team moving into aerospace and defence

Qualifications

• BE or B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Automobile Engineering (mandatory).
• 2–4 years in procurement, sourcing, quality, or export operations at trading houses, manufacturers, freight forwarders, or CHAs.
• Strong working Excel; able to build trackers from scratch.
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret tolerances and GD&T.
• Fluent Hindi and English (written and spoken); Kannada is a plus.

About the role

We're looking for an

We're looking for an Operations Associate to own supplier sourcing, order execution, and export documentation at Procurio. This is a hands‑on role sitting at the centre of everything we do, working directly with the founder to qualify manufacturers, negotiate commercial terms, and get shipments out of the door on time and correctly papered.

We want an engineer in this seat, not a coordinator. Reading a drawing properly and understanding how a part gets made is the difference between catching a problem at the quotation stage and catching it at the customer's inspection.

What you will do:

• Identify and qualify manufacturers across machining, fabrication, castings, and allied processes, and build a supplier base you can personally vouch for.

• Float RFQs, collect and compare quotations on price, lead time, capability, and capacity, and make a clear recommendation on who we should work with.

• Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers and close on selection alongside the founder.

• Raise purchase orders and confirm specifications, drawings, tolerances, and delivery schedules in writing before production starts.

• Track open orders daily, chase production at the supplier end, and elevate slippage before it ever becomes a delay to the customer.

• Prepare and verify export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and supporting papers, and coordinate with the CHA and freight forwarder through shipping bill filing and dispatch.

• Visit supplier facilities across the Bangalore belt, Peenya, Bommasandra, Jigani, and Hosur, and travel to clusters in Chennai, Coimbatore, and the North for capability assessment, inspection, and issue resolution.

• Maintain a clean supplier database, rate history, and order tracker, and keep the team honest with a weekly status summary on every open order.

Requirements

What you will need:

• BE or B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Automobile Engineering. This one is mandatory.

• 2‑4 years in procurement, sourcing, quality, or export operations at a trading house, manufacturer, freight forwarder, or CHA.

• Strong working Excel. You should be comfortable building comparison sheets and trackers from scratch, without a template handed to you.

• The ability to read a technical drawing, interpret tolerances and GD&T callouts, and understand how a part is actually made. Your engineering background should show up in how you talk to a shop floor.

• Fluent Hindi and English, written and spoken. Hindi is non‑negotiable, because a large share of our supplier conversations happen in it. Kannada, on top of that, is a strong advantage.

• Documentation discipline. Every confirmation in writing, every file where it should be, every time.

• Hands‑on experience with export documentation, Incoterms, HS codes, and shipping bill filing would be a huge plus. Alternatively, if you’ve run end‑to‑end order execution at a small firm where nobody else was going to do it for you, that counts for just as much.

• Comfort with local travel to supplier units, and the temperament to push a vendor without burning the relationship.
