Job summary

DigiCert is seeking an OpenSearch Administrator in Bengaluru, India with 3+ years hands-on experience to design, implement, and optimize OpenSearch environments supporting our SaaS products.

You will monitor cluster health, implement security, backup strategies, and collaborate with global teams to deliver scalable search solutions while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience administering OpenSearch clusters.
• Strong understanding of OpenSearch architecture and core concepts.
• Experience with OpenSearch Dashboards, Logstash-compatible pipelines, and OpenSearch Data Prepper.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of JVM tuning and garbage collection optimization.
• Experience with monitoring tools for OpenSearch (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our OpenSearch environments. You will collaborate with a global team of administrators to design, automate, build, operate, and continuously enhance the indexing services that support our customer‑facing SaaS products.

• Knowledge of JVM tuning and garbage collection optimization.
• Experience with monitoring tools for OpenSearch (e.g., OpenSearch Dashboards, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment working on projects against strict deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, including developers, system reliability engineers and other business units.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot user facing service incidents & outages.

Nice to have

• OpenSearch certification.
• Experience with cloud‑based OpenSearch deployments (AWS OpenSearch Service, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with monitoring tools and techniques (e.g., New Relic, Splunk, etc.).
• Background in performance tuning for large‑scale search applications.
• Experience with automation or CI/CD tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, GitLab or SaltStack.
