Job summary

DigiCert is seeking an experienced OpenSearch Administrator to design, implement, maintain, and optimize our OpenSearch environments for a global SaaS product portfolio.

You will collaborate with a worldwide team to automate, build, operate, and enhance indexing services that support customer-facing services, dashboards, and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience administering OpenSearch clusters.
• Strong understanding of OpenSearch architecture and core concepts.
• Experience with OpenSearch Dashboards, Logstash-compatible pipelines, and OpenSearch Data Prepper.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of JVM tuning and garbage collection optimization.
• Experience with monitoring tools for OpenSearch (e.g., OpenSearch Dashboards, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment working on projects against strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop backup and recovery strategies for OpenSearch clusters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex OpenSearch issues.
• Perform cluster upgrades and patches with minimal downtime.
• Optimize query performance and data indexing strategies.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement efficient search solutions.
• Create and maintain documentation for OpenSearch configurations and procedures.
• Implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Act as a backup for other team members when necessary.
• Provide on-call support and working off-hours as needed to ensure reliability and availability.
• Bi-weekly rotating shifts are necessary to ensure coverage during weekends.

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced OpenSearch Administrator with 3+ years of hands-on experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our OpenSearch environments. • Experience with cloud‑based OpenSearch deployments (AWS OpenSearch Service, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with monitoring tools and techniques (e.g., New Relic, Splunk, etc.).
• Background in performance tuning for large-scale search applications.
• Experience with automation or CI/CD tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, GitLab or SaltStack.
