Job summary

MSN Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad invites an experienced R&D professional with 2–5 years in crystallization, isolation and purification of APIs and intermediates to join the Research & Development API team.

You will develop and optimize crystallization processes, perform solvent screening, conduct solubility and temperature studies, and support scale-up and tech transfer with focus on purity, yield and solid-state properties.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of crystallization R&D experience in APIs.
• M.Sc. in Chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize crystallization and recrystallization for APIs.
• Perform solvent screening and identify suitable solvent/anti-solvent systems.
• Conduct solubility studies, temperature profile studies, and supersaturation assessments.
• Optimize process parameters: temperature, cooling rate, agitation, seeding, concentration, aging time.
• Support process development, scale-up, and technology transfer activities.
• Prepare experimental protocols, laboratory notebooks, technical reports, and process development documentation.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled R&D professional with 2–5 years of experience in crystallization, isolation, and purification of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and intermediates. The candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing crystallization processes to achieve the desired purity, yield, particle size, and solid-state properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize crystallization and recrystallization processes for APIs and intermediates.
• Perform solvent screening and identify suitable solvent and anti-solvent systems.
• Conduct solubility studies, temperature profile studies, and supersaturation assessments.
• Optimize process parameters such as temperature, cooling rate, agitation, seeding, concentration, and aging time.
• Perform polymorph screening and evaluate solid-state properties, where required.
• Improve product yield, purity, filterability, and drying characteristics.
• Execute laboratory experiments involving crystallization, filtration, washing, and drying.
• Characterize crystalline products using analytical techniques such as HPLC, XRPD, DSC, TGA, and particle-size analysis, as applicable.
• Troubleshoot issues such as oiling out, precipitation, agglomeration, poor filtration, and inconsistent crystal formation.
• Support process development, scale-up, and technology transfer activities.
• Prepare experimental protocols, laboratory notebooks, technical reports, and process development documentation.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures, GMP requirements, and applicable EHS guidelines.

Required Skills

• Hands‑on experience in crystallization and recrystallization process development.
• Knowledge of solvent selection, solubility, supersaturation, nucleation, and crystal growth.
• Understanding of API isolation and purification techniques.
• Familiarity with polymorphism and solid-state characterization.
• Knowledge of HPLC and other analytical techniques used for product characterization.
• Ability to analyze experimental data, troubleshoot process issues, and optimize process parameters.
• Good documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pharmaceutical API process R&D.
• Exposure to scale-up of crystallization processes from laboratory to pilot scale.
• Familiarity with particle engineering, crystal morphology, and polymorph control.
• Experience working in a regulated pharmaceutical R&D environment.

Eligibility

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in crystallization R&D, API process development, or pharmaceutical process chemistry.
