Job summary

Staffing Services seeks a Packaging Design Engineer in Pune, India to create CAD drawings from specs and input from engineers. You will revise drawings, collaborate across teams for feasibility, and maintain standards for manufacturing documentation.

You will perform tolerance analyses, develop layouts, and manage CAD files, while supporting testing and supplier evaluations for cost and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering
• 3 years of experience in packaging design or engineering
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Artios CAD
• Basic understanding of packaging materials (plastics, paperboard, corrugate)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Create detailed CAD drawings based on engineering specifications, sketches, and input from engineers.
• Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes or improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Maintain drawing standards and documentation in accordance with company and industry guidelines.
• Perform tolerance analysis and basic calculations to support design decisions.
• Prepare layouts, assembly drawings, and part details for manufacturing.
• Manage and organize CAD files.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in the design and development of packaging for existing products.
• Conduct packaging performance testing (e.g., drop, vibration, compression).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Support packaging documentation, specifications, and SOPs.
• Evaluate packaging materials and suppliers for cost-effectiveness and sustainability
