Job summary

Ficus Pax in Vadodara, Gujarat, seeks a packaging design engineer to design packaging products using SolidWorks and develop drawings and BOMs. You will coordinate with production and quality teams for validation and support new product development and customer-specific packaging needs.

The role requires strong SolidWorks knowledge, understanding of manufacturing processes, and familiarity with sheet metal and welding.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks (mandatory).
• Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of sheet metal, welding, packaging materials, and structural design.
• AutoCAD knowledge will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop packaging products using SolidWorks.
• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Develop packaging solutions across materials (wood, metal, corrugated, honeycomb, custom).
• Prepare BOMs, material specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams for design validation.
• Conduct product testing and design improvements.
• Support new product development and customer-specific packaging requirements.
• Conduct customer visits to identify opportunities and drive sales growth.
• Visit suppliers and customer sites for technical discussions.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control.
