Job summary

KSB Company is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to perform dimensional and visual inspections on pump components and associated parts in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra. You will work with measuring instruments, perform NDT, and verify vendor drawings and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in inspection.
• Proficient with GD&T and measuring instruments.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct dimensional inspection of pump components and fabricated parts using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges and dial indicators.
• Perform visual inspection to identify defects such as cracks, porosity, surface irregularities and welding defects.
• Execute NDT activities including DPI, RT, UT as per requirements.
• Verify vendor manufacturing processes follow approved drawings and specifications.
• Review and verify vendor documentation like inspection reports, calibration certificates and NDT reports.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, NCRs and corrective action requests as required.
• Ensure all inspection results are documented and submitted to quality management or clients.
• Communicate inspection findings and work with vendors to resolve quality issues.
• Identify recurring issues in vendor quality and provide feedback for process improvements.
• Support root cause analysis and CAPA implementations.

Job description

Major responsibilities:

• Conduct dimensional inspection of pump components and fabricated parts (Volute casings, impellers, Shafts, Diffusers, Stage casings, Shaft seals housing, base frame etc.) using measuring instruments such as vernier calliper’s, micrometre’s, height gauges, and dial indicators.
• Perform visual inspection to identify defects such as cracks, porosity, surface irregularities and welding defects.
• Execute NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) activities including DPI, RT, UT as per requirements.
• Verify that vendor manufacturing processes follow approved drawings and specifications.
• Review and verify vendor documentation like inspection report, calibration certificates, and NDT reports.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and corrective action requests as required.
• Ensure that all inspection results are documented accurately and submitted to quality management or clients.
• Communicate inspection findings and work with vendors to resolve quality issues.
• Identify recurring issues in vendor quality performance and provide feedback for process improvements.
• Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
