Job summary

Thanal in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist to assess residents, develop individualized therapy plans, and provide therapy to improve fine and gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and daily living abilities.

You will coordinate with physiotherapists, psychologists and caregivers, guide home-based exercises, maintain progress records and uphold professional standards in a rehabilitation home environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Valid state or national licensure/registration to practice as an occupational therapist.
• Excellent empathy, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify functional, physical, sensory and developmental needs.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on residents’ needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Provide therapy to improve fine motor skills, gross motor skills, coordination, balance and functional abilities.
• Support residents in developing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills such as dressing, grooming, feeding and personal hygiene.
• Coordinate with other rehabilitation professionals and caregivers to ensure integrated care.
• Guide caregivers on home-based exercises, activities and rehabilitation techniques.
• Monitor residents’ progress and maintain regular therapy records and progress reports.
• Maintain proper documentation and follow rehabilitation home’s policies and professional standards.
