Job summary

Daya Rehabilitation Trust in Chennai, India, seeks an Occupational Therapist to assess residents’ functional, physical, sensory, and developmental needs and to develop individualized therapy plans. Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify residents' needs.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on residents' needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Provide therapy to improve fine motor skills, gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and functional abilities.
• Support residents in developing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and personal hygiene.
• Conduct sensory integration and stimulation activities where required.
• Assist residents in improving their independence and participation in daily activities.
• Recommend and train residents in the use of assistive devices and adaptive techniques.
• Monitor residents’ progress and maintain regular therapy records and progress reports.
• Coordinate with physiotherapists, psychologists, special educators, caregivers, and other rehabilitation professionals.
• Guide caregivers on home-based exercises, activities, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Participate in group activities, recreational programs, and rehabilitation initiatives within the home.
• Ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all residents.
• Maintain proper documentation and follow the rehabilitation home’s policies and professional standards.

Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy
  
• Valid state or national licensures/registration to practice as an occupational therapist.
