Job summary

Thanal Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess residents' needs and develop individualized rehabilitation plans. You will provide therapy to improve motor skills and functional abilities, supporting ADLs and independence within the home setting.

The role involves coordinating with caregivers and other therapists to ensure comprehensive care and maintaining progress records in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Valid state or national licensure/registration to practice as an occupational therapist.
• Strong empathy, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify residents’ needs.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
• Provide therapy to improve fine motor, gross motor, coordination, balance and functional skills.
• Support residents in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as dressing, grooming, feeding and hygiene.

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify the functional, physical, sensory, and developmental needs of residents.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on each resident’s needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Provide therapy to improve fine motor skills, gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and functional abilities.
• Support residents in developing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and personal hygiene.
• Conduct sensory integration and stimulation activities where required.
• Assist residents in improving their independence and participation in daily activities.
• Recommend and train residents in the use of assistive devices and adaptive techniques when required.
• Monitor residents’ progress and maintain regular therapy records and progress reports.
• Coordinate with physiotherapists, psychologists, special educators, caregivers, and other rehabilitation professionals.
• Guide caregivers on home-based exercises, activities, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Participate in group activities, recreational programs, and rehabilitation initiatives within the home.
• Ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all residents.
• Maintain proper documentation and follow the rehabilitation home’s policies and professional standards.

Requirements
