Job summary

NOVARGI INDUSTRIES is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Pune or Gurgaon. You will lead electrical design activities for industrial projects across Oil & Gas, Chemical, Refining, and Petrochemical sectors.

The role requires strong expertise in electrical calculations, equipment sizing, substations, and LV/MV distribution, with proficiency in ETAP, EPLAN, AutoCAD, and related tools. Fluent English is essential for cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of relevant electrical engineering/design experience.
• At least 6 years in electrical design for industrial plants (site-based preferred).
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Refining or Petrochemical sectors.
• Strong knowledge of IEC standards and industrial electrical systems.
• Proficient in ETAP, DIALux, EPLAN, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute basic and detailed electrical engineering and design.
• Develop and review electrical calculations, equipment sizing, single-line diagrams, substations, and distribution systems.
• Develop and review designs for electrical systems and equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and cabling.
• Lead and support electrical designers, including review of engineering deliverables.
• Review technical documentation, drawings, and calculations from electrical equipment suppliers.
• Support procurement with technical evaluation of vendor offers and documentation.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with other engineering disciplines and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup when required.
• Ensure compliance with IEC standards, project specifications, and international codes.
• Supervise outsourced electrical engineering activities when applicable.

Role Summary

The role will focus on delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting designers, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and NOVARGI engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute basic and detailed electrical engineering and design activities.
• Develop and review electrical calculations, equipment sizing, single-line diagrams, substations, and distribution systems.
• Develop and review designs for electrical systems and equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and cabling.
• Lead and support electrical designers, including review of engineering deliverables.
• Review technical documentation, drawings, and calculations from electrical equipment suppliers.
• Support Procurement with technical evaluation of vendor offers and documentation.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with other engineering disciplines and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in internal and client engineering meetings when required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IEC standards, project specifications, and international codes.
• Supervise outsourced electrical engineering activities when applicable.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of relevant electrical engineering/design experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical engineering/design for industrial plants, preferably in site-based environments.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Refining, Petrochemical, or similar industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of IEC standards and industrial electrical systems.
• Proficiency in ETAP, DIALux, EPLAN, AutoCAD, and other relevant electrical design software.
• Strong experience with electrical calculations, equipment sizing, LV/MV distribution, substations, lighting, grounding, motors, transformers, switchgear, and MCCs.
• Fluent English with strong technical communication skills.
