Job summary

Sumitomo SHI SFW, Noida, seeks a skilled Non-Pressure Part Designer to join its JV operations with ISGEC Heavy Engineering. You will design boiler non-pressure parts such as casings, hoppers, ducts, and supporting steel structures using 3D tools and produce 2D fabrication and shop drawings.

Candidates should have 5+ years in plated/steel structure design, with Tekla/CADMATIC/E3D and AutoCAD proficiency, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Civil or Diploma in Mechanical/Civil Engg.
• Minimum 5 years in plated/steel structure design using 3D & 2D tools.
• Experience in boiler/non-pressure part design, including casing, hoppers, ducts, buckstay, silos and supporting steel structure.
• Good command of English; ability to coordinate with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Understand inputs for non-pressure part design and prepare input checklists.
• Perform basic 3D design modelling according to inputs and standards.
• Create clash-free designs and perform design reviews with interfaces to equipment.
• Coordinate with structural engineers on strength and welding requirements.
• Check assembly splits for transportation and client agreement before drawings.
• Prepare material lists and compare with estimates.
• Produce erection site drawings, shop drawings, fabrication part drawings and related documents; ensure QA/QC before release.
• Manage design changes and document release using DMS.

Sumitomo SHI SFW is seeking a dynamic person for the position of Non-Pressure Part Designer to join our Joint Venture operations with ISGEC Heavy engineering in Noida, India.

Position: Non-Pressure Part Designer

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech (Mechanical/Civil) / Diploma Mechanical/Civil Engg

Experience: Minimum 5 years Plated structure & Steel Structure design using 3D & 2D design tools

Main Thrust: Perform basic and detail design of various boiler non-pressure part plated structure such as casing, ash hoppers, flues and ducts, buckstay, penthouse, material storage silos and supporting steel structure using 3D tools and produce 2D drawings such as fabrication parts, shop assembly, site assembly

Functions & Tasks:

• Understand all input related to non-pressure part design work, fill input checklist, coordinate and arrange all necessary inputs to complete the boiler non-pressure part related design tasks
• Perform basic design modelling of non-pressure parts in 3D design environment according to all applicable design input data and design standard practices
• Perform interface and clash checks through 3D plant model environment model and make clash free design, perform design reviews, fill applicable design quality checklists. Ensure interface connections with all applicable equipment.
• Coordinate with structural engineers to review structural strength & welding requirements
• Check assembly splits for transportation and agree with client before drawing production.
• Prepare material lists for non-pressure parts, compare quantities with estimated quantity.
• Prepare all design output documents such as erection site assembly drawings, workshop assembly drawings, fabrication part drawings, material lists, self-check for the quality of documents and completeness. Submit all documents for internal quality control check and fix all comments fully before final release. Apply all lessons learning from previous projects to current design.
• Ensure document release and change management through M-Files DMS
• Manage all design changes related to non-pressure part design as per process
• Comply all workflow process requirements, inputs, Design standard practices, statutory requirements, safety requirements,
• Maintain checklist, check prints, Open issues / hold list, rework/additional work list
• Timely response to customer comments and maintain comment response sheet, quality index for all resubmissions.
• Attending Customer / Consultant queries regarding non pressure part design and respond timely
• Engineering support fabrication and construction related to non-pressure part design area.
• Disposal of shop / site feedback, non-conformances, supplier change requests related to non-pressure parts
