Job summary

Zylog ElastoComp LLP is seeking a New Product Development (NPD) Engineer at our Chakan, Pune location. The role focuses on executing NPD projects from concept to commercialization, coordinating with R&D, Production, Quality, Purchase and Sales to ensure timely launches.

The ideal candidate holds a B.Tech or Diploma in Polymer/Plastics Engineering or related field with 3–4 years of experience in product or process development, and hands-on extrusion and polymer processing exposure.

• Strong understanding of polymer/plastics processing and extrusion.

Responsibilities

• Execute new product development projects from concept to commercialization.
• Plan and conduct laboratory, pilot, and production-scale trials.

New Product Development (NPD) Engineer

Location: Chakan, Pune

Qualification: B.Tech / Diploma in Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field

Experience: 3 to 4 Years

Job Purpose

We are looking for a highly motivated New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to execute new product development projects from concept to commercialization. The role involves project planning, product trials, testing, process development, scale-up activities, and successful product launches while coordinating closely with R&D, Production, Quality, Purchase, and Sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute new product and technology development projects from concept to commercialization.
• Prepare project plans, timelines, and trial schedules to ensure timely project completion.
• Coordinate with R&D for formulation development, material selection, and technical support.
• Plan and conduct laboratory, pilot, and production-scale trials.
• Support process optimization, scale-up, and commercialization activities.
• Conduct product testing and evaluations as per customer and industry requirements.
• Coordinate third-party testing, certifications, and product validation activities.
• Work with external laboratories, testing agencies, and certification bodies.
• Monitor project timelines and proactively address technical and operational challenges.
• Support customer trials, product demonstrations, and technical evaluations.
• Establish product specifications and quality parameters before commercialization.
• Perform competitor benchmarking and identify new product opportunities.
• Support cost optimization and process improvement initiatives.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have 3 to 4 years of experience in product development, process development, project execution, or a related role within the polymer/plastics industry. Experience with sheet extrusion, coating, or converting lines will be a distinct advantage.
