Job summary

Freshleaf Tea in Ludhiana, Punjab seeks an experienced NPD Lead to drive the development of innovative tea and beverage products from concept to commercial launch.

You will lead recipe development, tea blending, sensory evaluation, trials, product improvement, and coordinate with production, quality, and packaging teams to deliver market-ready offerings.

Responsibilities

• Develop new tea blends, herbal teas, green teas, CTC/orthodox teas and other beverage products.
• Create and standardize new recipes, formulations and product specifications.
• Conduct R&D trials, pilot batches and commercial production trials.
• Perform tea tasting and sensory evaluation for taste, aroma, colour, strength and overall quality.
• Source and evaluate new tea leaves, herbs, flavours, ingredients and other raw materials.
• Work closely with Purchase, Production, Quality and Packaging teams for successful product development.
• Conduct product benchmarking and market research to identify new trends and consumer preferences.
• Improve existing products based on quality, cost, taste and consumer feedback.
• Maintain proper R&D records, recipes, trial reports and product specifications.
• Ensure new products are developed within the required quality, cost and production parameters.
• Coordinate product trials, sampling and approvals before commercial launch.
• Support the development of new product ranges and seasonal/limited-edition products.
• Ensure compliance with applicable food safety and quality standards during product development.
