Job summary

Zohorecruit invites applications for a trainee Network Support Technician position in India. You will assist in configuring LAN/WAN, IP addressing, DHCP/DNS and basic SIP/VoIP setups, under supervision.

You’ll learn installation of IP phones, IP-PBX troubleshooting, and remote support while gaining practical exposure to Linux, Wireshark and basic network operations.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4 addressing and subnetting.
• Familiarity with LAN/WAN concepts, VLANs, DHCP and DNS.
• Interest in SIP and VoIP, with basic SIP concepts.
• Awareness of network switches/routers and installation basics.
• CCNA-level knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation and configuration of LAN/WAN networks.
• Troubleshoot basic connectivity issues and verify IP configurations.
• Assist with IP-PBX deployments and SIP/IP phone setup.
• Collect logs, assist in remote support and provide basic reports.

Job description

• * Assist in installation and configuration of LAN/WAN networks.
• * Configure basic IP addresses, sub netting, DHCP and DNS.
• * Basic understanding of VLAN, trunk/access ports and PoE.
• * Assist with configuration of network switches and routers.
• * Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues using:
• * Basic switch commands.
• * Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity, packet loss and latency issues.
• * Assist with installation and configuration of IP-PBX systems.
• * Configure SIP extensions and IP phones.
• * Basic understanding of SIP registration and SIP calling.
• * Troubleshoot:
• * No audio/one-way audio
• * Learn and work with Asterisk, Zycoo, Coovox, Matrix, Dasscom or similar PBX systems.
• * Assist senior engineers with customer troubleshooting and remote support.
• * Installation and configuration of IP phones from vendors such as:
• * Basic knowledge of SIP account configuration.
• * Perform phone firmware updates and basic troubleshooting.
• * Assist with IP-PBX and IP-phone deployment at customer sites.
• * Basic knowledge of Linux is preferred.
• * Learn basic Linux commands and troubleshooting.
• * Assist with checking:
• * Basic exposure to Docker is an advantage.

Troubleshooting & Customer Support

• * Provide remote and onsite technical support.
• * Collect logs and screenshots from customer systems.
• * Assist senior engineers in analyzing Wire shark/PCAP captures.
• * Follow troubleshooting procedures and document solutions.
• * Prepare basic installation and service reports.
• * Escalate complex issues to senior engineers.
