Job summary

Movate Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking a Network Engineer with strong hands-on experience in switching, routing, network monitoring, and troubleshooting. The role focuses on maintaining network availability and rapid incident resolution to support business operations.

You will configure Cisco switches/routers, troubleshoot VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP, EtherChannel, VTP and inter-VLAN routing, and support routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and static routes.

Qualifications

• Experience with LAN/WAN networks and Cisco devices.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Bengaluru and rotate shifts if required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage LAN/WAN network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers.
• Troubleshoot VLAN, trunking, STP/RSTP, EtherChannel, VTP, and inter-VLAN routing issues.
• Support routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and static routing.
• Perform troubleshooting for packet loss, latency, link flapping, interface errors, routing issues, and outages.
• Monitor routers, switches, WAN links, interfaces, bandwidth utilization, CPU, memory, and device availability using network monitoring tools.
• Work with monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios, or similar tools.
• Perform incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and escalation for major network issues.
• Coordinate with ISPs and telecom vendors for WAN/link-related incidents.
• Handle incidents and service requests through ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
• Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, device inventories, and troubleshooting records.
• Participate in 24x7 rotational shift/network operations support, where required.
