Job summary

Peoples University in India seeks an experienced Enterprise Network Administrator to design, implement, and maintain campus network infrastructure across LAN/WAN. You will configure routers, switches, wireless controllers, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure high uptime and security.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale network environments, CCNA mandatory, and experience with Fortinet/Sophos/Cisco ASA. A related degree and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
• MCA, M.Tech, or equivalent postgraduate qualification adds advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, and maintain campus network infrastructure.
• Configure routers, Layer-2/Layer-3 switches, wireless controllers, access points, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure maximum network uptime.
• Configure and manage VLANs, Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), DHCP, DNS, NAT, ACLs, and QoS.
• Administer enterprise firewall solutions (Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, etc.).
• Ensure network security by implementing firewall policies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control mechanisms.
• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and vendors for internet connectivity and network maintenance.
• Maintain network documentation, IP addressing schemes, configuration backups, and asset records.
• Perform preventive maintenance, firmware upgrades, and disaster recovery planning.
• Provide technical support for servers, wireless infrastructure, CCTV, IP telephony, and other network-enabled systems.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and organizational IT policies.

Key Responsibilities

Eligibility CriteriaEducational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 5 yearsof hands-on experience in enterprise network administration or network engineering.
• Experience in Universities, Educational Institutions, Hospitals, or large enterprise environments will be preferred.

Required Certifications

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Mandatory
• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Preferred
• Fortinet NSE / FCF Certification Preferred
• Sophos Certified Engineer – Preferred
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+ – Preferred
• Microsoft Windows Server Administration Certification (Preferred)

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, Routing & Switching.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, HP, Juniper, MikroTik, or equivalent networking equipment.
• Firewall administration and network security management.
• Wireless network deployment and optimization.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Windows/Linux server environments.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, or Nagios.
• Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud networking will be an added advantage.
