Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad is seeking a skilled network professional to manage complex enterprise network environments. The role emphasizes TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols and SD-WAN alongside security considerations and vendor hardware experience.

The candidate will interact with customers and internal teams, troubleshoot across LAN/WAN, and support ITIL processes while continuously updating skills in evolving technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP stack with IPv4/IPv6 addressing.
• Deep knowledge of VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP and inter-VLAN routing.
• Hands-on with routing protocols OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and static routes.
• Knowledge of router redistribution and policy control.
• Layer 2 vs Layer 3 switching, port security and storm control.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista and HPE gear.
• SD-WAN architecture, overlays, control/data plane separation.
• Cisco SDWAN/Velocloud/Fortinet platforms experience.
• Understanding of ZTP/AAR, traffic shaping and IPSec tunnels.
• WLAN controllers and AP deployment experience.
• WiFi troubleshooting for coverage, roaming and performance.
• Experience handling fault-tickets via ServiceNow with stakeholders.
• ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, CM, Change Management.
• Customer-facing role with excellent communication.
• Strong technical knowledge and eagerness to learn.

Job description

Must-Have :

• 1. Strong Understanding of TCP/IP stack, IPV4/IPV6 subnetting & addressing.


• 2. Deep Knowledge of VLANs, Trunking, STP, RSTP, Inter-VLAN routing.


• 3. Hands on experience with routing protocols OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and static.


• 4. Strong Knowledge on router redistribution & policy control.


• 5. In depth knowledge of Layer 2 vs Later 3 switching, Port security, storm control.


• 6. Experience with vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Arista, HPE.


• 7. Strong Working knowledge of SD-WAN architecture & overlays, Control and Data plane separation.


• 8. Experience with platforms such as Cisco SDWAN, Velocloud or Fortinet.


• 9. Deep understanding of ZTP, AAR, Policy based traffic shaping, IPSec Tunnels & encryption


• 10. Hands on experience with Wireless LAN controllers and Access Point Deployment.


• 11. Troubleshooting experience for WiFi coverage issues, roaming, performance bottlenecks.


• 12. Should be dealing with fault-ticket (Service-Now), in co-ordination with Customer, application team or device vendor to resolve issues.


• 13. In depth Knowledge on ITIL processes like Incident management, Problem Management, Configuration management and Change Management processes.


• 14. Candidate should have been in a customer facing role with excellent communication skills.


• 15. Strong technical knowledge and eagerness to learn new technologies
