Job summary

UST in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with 6–10 years of experience to manage enterprise networking and security.

You will deploy and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and VPNs, and collaborate with teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture. Candidates should have hands-on with Cisco/Juniper/HP gear, firewall technologies, SIEM, and cloud networking.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of hands-on networking and security experience.
• Expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRF, QoS, MPLS, SD-WAN).
• Hands-on with Cisco, Juniper, HP or equivalent gear.
• Deep firewall, IDS/IPS, WAF, VPN technologies.
• Experience with SIEM, log analysis and incident response.
• Cloud networking/security (Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• VLANs, VPC, HSRP, LACP, NAT, ACLs in data centers.
• Certifications: CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, NSE 4/7, ITIL Foundation.
• Ability to implement security measures and respond to incidents.
• Lead deployment and configuration of network/security devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment, configuration and optimization of routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs.
• Monitor security infrastructure including firewalls, ISE and proxies.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security posture.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Plan changes with risk assessment and CAB approval.
• Document security processes and reporting metrics.

• Monitor and maintain the security of the network & security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, Load balancer, ISE and proxy systems.
• Implement security measures to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access.
• Analyze and respond to security incidents and breaches, providing timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall organizational security posture.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and audits to identify potential security risks.
• Document security processes and create reporting metrics to track compliance and performance.
• Periodically update the system software, taking periodic backup and maintained device lifecycle
• Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of network and security devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, WAF, IDS/IPS, etc.).
• Validate and implement network/security designs as per project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Execute and oversee business-critical changes with proper risk assessment and rollback planning fallowed by CAB process.
• Configure and manage firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point).
• Implement automation for operational activities with python or other scripting tools.
