Job summary

MethodHub is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize traditional and cloud network infrastructures. You will mentor junior engineers and drive complex Layer 3 networking, firewall administration, and load balancing initiatives across on-prem and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of hands-on firewall administration, load balancer expertise, and cloud networking experience with AWS and GCP/Azure.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive network engineering experience with firewall administration and load balancer tech.
• Hands-on experience with CISCO and Juniper switches/routers and enterprise security platforms.
• Experience with cloud networking and security architectures in AWS/Azure.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security best practices, and change management processes.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize Layer 3 networks and firewall architectures.
• Architect and manage firewall solutions (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower).
• Configure and tune load balancers (F5 BIG-IP, AWS ALB/ELB) for performance and HA.
• Implement IPsec/SSL VPNs and zero-trust models; lead security and compliance efforts.
• Lead firewall policy optimization, log analysis, and operational support activities.

Job description

Role Overview: Leads the design, deployment, and optimization of traditional and cloud network infrastructures, providing technical expertise and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of firsthand experience with firewall administration, load balancer configuration, and network troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of network protocols and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and troubleshoot complex Layer 3 networks using TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
• Architect, deploy, and manage advanced firewall solutions (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint) to secure enterprise networks.
• Design and optimize load balancer configurations (e.g., F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM) for high availability, scalability, and application performance.
• Implement complex IPsec/SSL VPNs, zero‑trust security models, and advanced threat prevention mechanisms.
• Lead firewall policy optimization, log analysis, and performance tuning to meet security and compliance requirements.

Required Skills:

• Advanced expertise in Layer 3 networking (TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
• Strong proficiency in NAT, IPv4, and firewall operations (TCP/UDP).
• Design, implementation and migration experience on CISCO and Juniper switches and Routers.
• Extensive experience in cloud network troubleshooting (GCP and AWS required).
• Proficiency in change management and operational support processes.
• Ability to mentor and lead technical initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• 5‑8 years of progressive experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years focused on firewall administration and 3 years on load balancer technologies.
• Experience with enterprise‑grade platforms like F5 BIG‑IP (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM), Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco Firepower.
• Proven track record in leading network service transitions, migrations, or large‑scale deployments.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud‑native security and load balancing solutions (e.g., AWS ALB/ELB, Azure Load Balancer).
• F5 Certified Technology Specialist (301a/b, 401), Palo Alto PCNSE, Cisco CCNP Security or equivalent.
• Advanced certifications like CISSP, CISM, CCIE Security, or ITIL Foundation are highly desirable
