Job summary

KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP is seeking an experienced Network Architect to design and optimize data centre and command centre networks in an Indian context. The role covers data centre operations, OFC backbone management, and secure, scalable architectures across field connectivity and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Design

• Design, review, and optimize network architecture for data centres, command centres, and field connectivity infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, redundancy, and security of network environments.
• Prepare network topology diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans.

OFC & Backbone Infrastructure Management

• Oversee planning, deployment, integration, and maintenance of OFC backbone networks.
• Ensure seamless connectivity between field devices, network nodes, control centres, and data centres.
• Monitor network performance and recommend improvements for capacity enhancement and resilience.

Data Centre Management

• Supervise installation, operation, and maintenance of Data Centre infrastructure.
• Ensure availability and performance of servers, storage systems, network devices, and associated infrastructure.
• Support implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Monitor utilization, performance, and security of Data Centre resources.

Network Operations & Integration

• Manage MPLS connectivity, routing, switching, VLAN configuration, and network security controls.
• Support integration of Smart City applications, surveillance systems, ITMS, ICCC, IoT platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues and coordinate with vendors and service providers for timely resolution.

Security & Compliance

• Implement network security best practices including access control, segmentation, firewall integration, and monitoring solutions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ICT standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and organizational policies.
• Conduct periodic audits, vulnerability assessments, and performance reviews.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with telecom providers, system integrators, OEMs, and infrastructure contractors.
• Review technical submissions, network designs, and implementation methodologies.
• Participate in procurement, technical evaluations, FAT/SAT activities, and project acceptance processes.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain network architecture documentation, asset inventories, configuration records, and operational procedures.
• Prepare status reports, performance reports, and recommendations for project management and stakeholders.
• Ensure proper documentation of network changes and incident management activities.

Desired Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of Data Centre architecture, network design, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Expertise in OFC backbone networks, MPLS architecture, routing, switching, and SFP technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and hybrid network environments (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple infrastructure components simultaneously.
