Job summary

Theos is hiring a Nesting Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC nesting machines for modular furniture production at our Hyderabad facility.

In this role you will ensure precise cutting, maximize material usage, and uphold quality and safety in a high-volume environment, using CAD/CAM concepts and woodworking CNC equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC nesting machines or similar woodworking CNC equipment.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming concepts.
• Ability to read production drawings and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC modular nesting machines per drawings and cut files.
• Load and unload panels safely (plywood, MDF, particleboard).
• Upload and verify CNC programs, nesting layouts, and job files.
• Monitor spindle speed, feed rate, and cutting depth.
• Ensure accurate cutting, drilling, grooving, and routing per design.
• Optimize material usage and minimize waste via nesting.
• Inspect finished components for accuracy and edge quality.
• Maintain production logs and follow SOPs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and PPE.
• Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to meet targets.

The Modular Nesting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC nesting machines used for cutting and optimizing wood-based panels for modular furniture production. The role ensures precise cutting, maximum material utilization, consistent quality, and safe machine operation in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC modular nesting machines as per production drawings and cut files.
• Load and unload panels such as plywood, MDF, and particle boards safely and accurately.
• Upload and verify CNC programs, nesting layouts, and job files before execution.
• Monitor machine parameters including spindle speed, feed rate, and cutting depth.
• Ensure accurate cutting, drilling, grooving, and routing operations as per design.
• Optimize material usage and minimize wastage through proper nesting practices.
• Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy and edge quality.
• Perform routine machine cleaning, tool inspection, and basic maintenance.
• Identify tool wear, breakage, or machine errors and report to maintenance team.
• Maintain production logs, job cards, and follow SOPs strictly.
• Adhere to safety protocols, PPE usage, and maintain a clean work area.
• Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to meet daily target

Requirements

• Experience operating CNC nesting machines or similar woodworking CNC equipment.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming concepts.
• Understanding of wood-based materials and cutting tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to read production drawings and work instructions.
• Willingness to work in shifts and under production deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in modular furniture or panel-based manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CNC brands such as Homag, Biesse, SCM, Felder, or similar.
