Job summary

JobItUs is seeking a Mould Maintenance Engineer for its operations in Vapi. The role involves preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of injection moulding machines, with a focus on minimizing downtime and extending machine life.

You will diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic domains, maintain PLCs/HMIs, sensors, VFDs, and servo drives, and generate maintenance reports. A Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical is required.

• Familiar with hydraulic and servo systems, PLCs/HMIs, VFDs and sensors.

Job description

Position: Mould Maintenance Engineer

Location: Vapi

Experience: 2 - 5 Years

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of injection moulding machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
• Maintain hydraulic and servo-based injection moulding machines to ensure smooth operation.
• Diagnose machine faults using electrical drawings, PLC/HMI alarms, and troubleshooting methods.
• Maintain PLCs, HMIs, sensors, proximity switches, solenoid valves, contactors, relays, VFDs, servo drives, and electrical control panels.
• Maintain heaters, thermocouples, temperature controllers, hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and related systems.
• Coordinate with Production and Tool Room teams to reduce machine downtime and improve productivity.
• Prepare preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, and machine history records.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring breakdowns.
• Monitor critical spare parts inventory and ensure timely availability.
• Support machine installation, commissioning, and production trials.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, workplace safety standards, and 5S practices.
• Improve machine availability, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Key Skills

• Hands-on experience in injection moulding machine maintenance, preferably in plastic or automotive component manufacturing.
• Knowledge of hydraulic/servo systems, pneumatic circuits, electrical panels, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo drives.
• Ability to troubleshoot breakdowns and read electrical and hydraulic circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, RCA, CAPA, and 5 Why analysis.
• Basic MS Excel and maintenance reporting skills, with strong problem-solving and coordination abilities.
