Job summary

Naxatra Labs in Gujarat seeks an Electrical/Mechatronics engineering professional to lead motor and dynamometer testing, data analysis and validation activities for BLDC/PMSM motors.

You will coordinate lab operations, calibrations, and tests for new product development, ensuring compliance with automotive standards and delivering robust performance reports to R&D and production teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics or related field.
• Hands-on motor and dynamometer testing experience.
• Ability to analyze test data and interpret torque-speed and efficiency curves.
• Knowledge of DVP, thermal testing, motor-controller integration and tuning.
• Familiarity with AIS/automotive homologation standards and benchmarking.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and lab-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct dynamometer testing for torque-speed, power, efficiency and thermal performance.
• Execute DVP tests and motor validation for new products and design changes.
• Test BLDC, PMSM, and other motors across electrical and mechanical dimensions.
• Support homologation and certification as per applicable standards.
• Tune controllers and calibrate motor-controller integration tests.
• Analyze test data, generate performance curves and identify gaps.
• Benchmark Naxatra products against competing motors and controllers.
• Manage lab operations, equipment calibration, maintenance and safety.
• Coordinate internal and external testing and test schedules.
• Troubleshoot failures and prepare technical reports with R&D/Production/Quality teams.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct dynamometer testing, including torque-speed, power, efficiency and thermal performance analysis.
• Execute DVP tests and motor validation for new products and design changes.
• Perform electrical, mechanical and performance testing of BLDC, PMSM and other motors.
• Support motor/controller homologation and certification as per applicable standards.
• Perform or support controller tuning, calibration and motor-controller integration testing.
• Analyse test data, generate performance curves, compare results against targets and identify performance gaps.
• Benchmark Naxatra products against competing motors and controllers.
• Manage daily laboratory operations, test equipment, calibration, maintenance and safety.
• Coordinate internal and external testing, certification activities and test schedules.
• Troubleshoot failures, conduct root-cause analysis and prepare technical reports in coordination with R&D, Controller, Production and Quality teams.

Candidate Preferences

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics or a related engineering field.
• Hands-on experience in motor and dynamometer testing, preferably with BLDC/PMSM motors.
• Ability to analyse test data, interpret torque-speed and efficiency curves, and draw technical conclusions.
• Understanding of DVP, thermal testing, motor-controller integration and controller tuning.
• Knowledge of homologation, applicable AIS/automotive standards and competitor benchmarking is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and laboratory management skills.
