Sarvani Sweets is an established food retail brand offering Indian sweets, savouries, bakery products, festive hampers and corporate gifting solutions. We are looking for experienced and target-driven sales professionals to expand our presence across Modern Trade, General Trade, Institutional Sales and B2B channels.
Role Summary
The candidate will be responsible for developing Sarvani Sweets’ business through Modern Trade accounts, distributors, retail channel partners, corporate customers and institutional buyers. The role includes customer acquisition, commercial negotiations, product listing, order generation, collections, promotions and sales-target achievement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Modern Trade Sales
- Develop business with supermarkets, hypermarkets, premium grocery stores and organised retail chains.
- Identify and approach potential Modern Trade accounts in assigned territories.
- Manage product listing, vendor registration and account onboarding.
- Negotiate commercial terms, margins, listing fees, promotional support and payment terms.
- Coordinate SKU selection, pricing, product placement and store-level availability.
- Prepare account-wise sales plans and monthly targets.
- Obtain purchase orders and coordinate timely supplies to stores or distribution centres.
- Monitor primary sales, secondary sales, stock movement and sell-through.
- Ensure availability of approved SKUs across listed stores.
- Track store-wise inventory, near-expiry stock, returns and damages.
- Plan promotions, product sampling, festive displays and in-store activations.
- Ensure proper shelf placement, visibility, merchandising and planogram compliance.
- Conduct regular store visits and maintain relationships with buyers, category managers and store managers.
- Reconcile purchase orders, invoices, deductions, claims and outstanding payments.
- Analyse account profitability after margins, schemes, promotions, returns and logistics costs.
2. Channel and Distribution Sales
- Identify, evaluate and appoint distributors, dealers, resellers and retail partners.
- Expand market coverage and product availability across assigned territories.
- Prepare distributor-wise and territory-wise sales plans.
- Develop outlet coverage, beat plans and market-visit schedules.
- Support distributors in order generation and secondary sales.
- Monitor distributor stock, ageing, expiry exposure and payment status.
- Ensure that channel partners maintain the required product assortment.
- Conduct retailer meetings, product demonstrations and sampling activities.
- Introduce new products and communicate pricing, schemes and promotional programmes.
- Track competitor products, pricing, margins, offers and distribution activities.
- Ensure timely collections and control credit exposure according to company policy.
- Review distributor performance and recommend corrective action where required.
3. B2B and Institutional Sales
- Identify corporate, institutional, HoReCa and bulk-order opportunities.
- Approach companies, banks, hospitals, educational institutions, hotels, caterers, event planners and wedding planners.
- Promote corporate gift boxes, festive hampers, customised sweets, employee gifts and bulk food orders.
- Build relationships with procurement, HR, administration and facility-management teams.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products, quantities and packaging.
- Prepare quotations, product presentations, samples and commercial proposals.
- Negotiate prices, quantities, delivery schedules, credit terms and payment conditions within approved limits.
- Convert enquiries and leads into confirmed purchase orders.
- Coordinate customised packaging, branding and bulk-order execution.
- Work with production, packaging, inventory, quality, logistics and accounts teams for timely fulfilment.
- Develop annual contracts and repeat-order arrangements with key customers.
- Maintain accurate customer, enquiry, quotation, order and collection records.
Sales Planning and Reporting
- Prepare daily market-visit and customer-contact reports.
- Maintain an updated sales pipeline and follow-up schedule.
- Submit weekly sales forecasts and monthly achievement reports.
- Track sales value, volume, margins, returns, discounts and collections.
- Participate in weekly and monthly sales-performance reviews.
- Provide market intelligence on customer trends, competitors and new opportunities.
- Maintain updated customer and account information in the CRM or reporting system.
- Ensure that no unauthorised discounts, credit commitments or commercial terms are offered.
Key Performance Indicators

Candidate Requirements
- Graduate or MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Sales or Business Administration.
- 2–8 years of experience in Modern Trade, FMCG, food products, retail distribution, HoReCa or institutional sales.
- Existing relationships with supermarkets, organised retailers, distributors or corporate buyers will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of margins, trade schemes, listing fees, claims, returns and credit management.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and achieve demanding sales targets.
- Good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, email and CRM systems.
- Fluency in Telugu and English; Hindi will be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the assigned market.
- Two-wheeler and a valid driving licence are preferred.
