Job summary

Novomine is seeking a Technical Capabilities Mining Engineer to design and plan non-coal mining projects using Surpac, AutoCAD and GIS tools. You will prepare detailed mining plans, reports and development strategies, coordinating with geologists and surveyors.

The role focuses on open-cast mine design, pit layouts, production scheduling, and integration of geological models with mine planning in the Kolkata region. A strong desk-based planning background is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in desk-based mine planning and preparing technical mining documents.
• Ability to prepare Mining Plans and related technical reports for non-coal mines.
• Strong interpretation of geological data and integration with mine planning.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in Surpac for mine design, pit/bench design and volume calculations.
• Develop mine plans, development plans and related technical reports.
• Coordinate with geologists and surveyors for finalisation of plans.
• Incorporate open-cast design elements: pit layout, benches, haul roads, ramps.
• Perform reserve/resource-based planning and production scheduling.
• Utilize DGPS/topographical data for accurate planning drawings.
• Produce mining drawings using AutoCAD and GIS software.

Technical Capabilities Mining Engineer

• Proficiency in Surpac for mine design, pit/bench design, surface modelling, volume calculations and mine planning.
• Strong knowledge of Non-Coal Mine Planning, particularly for minor and major mineral projects.
• Experience in desk-based mine planning and preparation of technical mining documents.
• Ability to prepare Mining Plans, Mine Development Plans and related technical reports for non-coal mines.
• Competent in geological data interpretation, resource estimation and integration of geological models with mine planning.
• Knowledge of open-cast mine design, including pit layout, benches, haul roads, ramps and production planning.
• Ability to carry out reserve/resource-based mine planning, production scheduling and excavation/overburden calculations.
• Familiarity with DGPS/topographical survey data, geological sections and contour data for mine planning.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS software for preparation of mining drawings and plans.
• Ability to coordinate with geologists and surveyors for preparation and finalisation of mine plans and technical reports.
