Job summary

Moksh Tech in Ahmedabad is seeking a Millwork Designer & Estimator with strong expertise in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, and interior fit-out projects. You will interpret drawings, prepare shop drawings, and develop accurate material take-offs and cost estimates.

The role requires 2–5 years of hands-on experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and knowledge of MTO/BOQ processes, finishes, and hardware.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Wood Technology, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in millwork design and estimation.
• Strong knowledge of custom furniture, cabinetry, architectural millwork, and joinery.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with SketchUp, SolidWorks, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, Revit, or similar software is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of BOQ, MTO, material calculations, labor costing, and pricing.
• Knowledge of wood, plywood, MDF, HDF, laminates, veneers, solid surfaces, hardware, and finishing materials.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and installation processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed millwork designs, shop drawings, elevations, sections, and details.
• Develop accurate material take-offs (MTO/BOQ) for millwork projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, hardware, labor, fabrication, finishing, and installation.
• Prepare quotations and commercial proposals based on project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, project managers, vendors, and production teams.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing requirements.
• Select appropriate materials, finishes, laminates, veneers, hardware, and accessories.
• Identify design discrepancies, missing information, and potential cost impacts.
• Obtain and compare supplier/vendor quotations for materials and hardware.
• Assist the production team with technical clarification and fabrication requirements.
• Review and revise drawings based on client/consultant comments.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
• Support value engineering and cost optimization without compromising quality.
• Ensure estimates are accurate and submitted within project deadlines.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Millwork Designer & Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, woodworking, and interior fit-out projects, with strong knowledge of design, shop drawings, material take-offs, and project estimation.

The candidate will be responsible for interpreting architectural drawings, preparing detailed millwork designs and shop drawings, calculating material and labor requirements, and preparing accurate project estimates and quotations.
