Job summary

JB Group of Companies in India seeks an experienced draftsman to create detailed shop, production, and fabrication drawings for wooden doors, frames, veneer panels, and interior fit-out works. You will translate architectural concepts into precise CAD drawings and coordinate with designers, engineers, and production teams to resolve technical issues.

The role requires 2-8 years in door manufacturing or related drafting, strong knowledge of door construction and veneer applications, and mandatory

Qualifications

• 2-8 years of experience in door manufacturing, veneer works, woodworking, joinery, or interior fit-out drafting.
• Strong knowledge of wooden door construction, veneer applications, joinery details, hardware installation, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Experience with SketchUp, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, or similar 3D software is an advantage.
• Good understanding of production methods, CNC requirements, and woodworking machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and interior drawings.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, production drawings, and fabrication drawings for wooden doors, frames, veneer panels, wall cladding, cabinetry, furniture, and interior fit-out works.
• Develop CAD drawings based on architectural drawings, design concepts, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, project managers, production, and site teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Revise drawings based on design changes, RFIs, and site conditions.
• Support the production team by providing manufacturing details and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate veneer grain matching, panel layouts, edge details, and finishing requirements.
• Verify dimensions and conduct site measurements when required.
• Maintain proper documentation, drawing revisions, and version control.
• Assist in product development and value engineering to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce material wastage.
• Mentor junior draftsmen and review their drawings for accuracy and quality.
• Ensure timely completion of drawings to meet project schedules.
