Job summary

JB Group of Companies in Gurugram seeks an experienced Estimator to lead cost estimation for interior fit‑out, veneer, woodwork, and related works. You will review tender documents, perform quantity take‑offs, and develop detailed cost estimates across materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 5–15 years of experience in estimation for interior fit‑out, woodwork, veneer, furniture, panel manufacturing, or construction projects.
  • Proven experience handling large commercial, hospitality, residential, retail, and corporate interior projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for interior fit‑out, veneer, woodwork, panel manufacturing, POP, civil, and finishing works.
  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify project scope and estimation requirements.
  • Develop material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity take‑offs from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Prepare rate analysis and validate unit costs based on market trends and historical data.
  • Coordinate with procurement to obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Recommend value engineering and cost optimisation opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Analyze BOQs for completeness and technical accuracy.
  • Prepare tender submissions, commercial proposals, bid summaries, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and commercial deviations.
  • Participate in pre‑bid meetings, technical clarifications, and negotiations with clients.
  • Coordinate with design, production, procurement, and project execution teams to ensure estimation accuracy.
  • Review shop drawings, material specifications, and manufacturing requirements for veneer and wood panel products.
  • Support production planning with material consumption and costing data.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain an updated cost database for materials, labor, machinery, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor estimated costs against actual project costs and prepare variance reports.
  • Develop estimation templates, productivity benchmarks, and standard costing methodologies.
  • Prepare management reports on bid status, project profitability, and estimation performance.
  • Mentor and guide junior estimators.
  • Standardise estimation processes and best practices across projects.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to improve estimation accuracy and turnaround time.
  • Support resource planning for concurrent estimation activities.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity surveying.
  • Expertise in veneer, plywood, MDF, HDF, laminates, solid wood, engineered wood, and panel manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of POP works, gypsum systems, false ceilings, flooring, partitions, furniture, and joinery.
  • Understanding of construction methodologies and interior finishing standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel (advanced), MS Project, and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with estimation software and quantity take‑off tools is advantageous.
