Job summary

JB Group of Companies in Gurugram seeks an experienced Senior Draftsman for interior fit-out projects. You will prepare detailed shop, fabrication, and production drawings for wooden doors, veneers, frames, and cabinetry, based on architectural drawings and client requirements.

You will coordinate with architects, designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure drawings meet standards, revise for design changes, and support manufacturing with technical clarifications.

Qualifications

• 2-8 years of experience in door manufacturing, veneer works, woodworking, joinery or interior fit-out drafting.
• Strong knowledge of wooden door construction, veneer applications and hardware installation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory; familiarity with 3D software is an advantage.
• Ability to read architectural, structural and interior drawings, with good communication.
• Production methods, CNC requirements and woodworking machinery understanding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, production drawings and fabrication drawings for wooden doors, frames, veneer panels and interior fit-out works.
• Develop CAD drawings based on architectural drawings, design concepts and client requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, project managers, production and site teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, project specs and building codes.
• Revise drawings based on design changes, RFIs and site conditions.
• Support production with manufacturing details and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate veneer grain matching, panel layouts, edge details and finishing requirements.
• Verify dimensions and conduct site measurements when required.
• Maintain documentation, drawing revisions and version control.
• Assist in product development and value engineering to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Mentor junior draftsmen and review drawings for accuracy and quality.
• Ensure timely completion of drawings to meet project schedules.

Required Qualifications

Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.

Experience with SketchUp, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, or similar 3D software is an advantage.

Good understanding of production methods, CNC requirements, and woodworking machinery.

Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and interior drawings.

Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
