Job summary

SynnopTech CAD Solutions LLP in Ahmedabad is seeking a skilled Millwork Design Engineer with 3+ years of experience in design and engineering of millwork, cabinetry and architectural interiors. You will convert concepts into production-ready designs and prepare detailed drawings for fabrication and installation.

The role requires strong AutoCAD proficiency and knowledge of millwork construction, materials and hardware.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of millwork / woodworking / architectural interiors experience.
• Strong knowledge of millwork construction and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, SolidWorks, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum or similar software.
• Good understanding of wood-based materials (MDF, plywood, veneer, laminate, solid wood, HPL).
• Ability to read architectural, interior and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed millwork shop drawings, fabrication drawings and production drawings.
• Convert architectural/interior design concepts into manufacturable millwork solutions.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, assemblies and construction details.
• Design custom cabinetry, wall paneling, reception desks, counters, wardrobes, doors and furniture.
• Prepare cutting lists, BOMs, material specifications and hardware schedules.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, project managers, production and site teams.
• Review drawings to identify design conflicts, constructability issues and discrepancies.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements, quality standards and manufacturing capabilities.
• Modify designs based on site conditions and engineering feedback.
• Coordinate with manufacturing team for smooth design-to-production transition.
• Support installation teams with clarifications and revisions.
• Maintain drawing standards, revision control and project documentation.

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Millwork Design Engineer with 3+ years of experience in designing and engineering custom millwork, cabinetry, furniture, and architectural interior elements.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of millwork construction, materials, hardware, manufacturing processes, and technical detailing, with the ability to convert concepts and architectural drawings into accurate production-ready designs.

Key Responsibility:

• Develop detailed millwork shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and production drawings.

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in millwork / woodworking / architectural interiors / furniture design engineering.
• Strong knowledge of millwork construction and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, SolidWorks, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or similar software will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of wood-based materials such as MDF, plywood, veneer, laminate, solid wood, HPL, and related materials.
• Knowledge of hardware, fittings, hinges, drawer systems, connectors, and installation methods.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior, and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, joinery, and fabrication details.
• Good problem-solving and technical coordination skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Qualification:

Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Furniture Design, or a related field.
