Job summary

Stratsmith Delhi is seeking a Middleware Engineer to design, develop and implement sophisticated middleware solutions for automotive Android environments. You will work on Android-based IVI/Cockpit middleware, spanning Frameworks/AOSP/HAL, including multimedia, projection, Bluetooth, and system infrastructure components.

You will apply your C++ expertise, MISRA guidelines, and cross‑platform build experience (CMake, Gradle, Soong) while engaging with Android HIDL interfaces, HAL/VHAL

Qualifications

• Expertise in C++ with middleware development experience.
• Experience designing Android-based IVI/Cockpit middleware across Frameworks/AOSP/HAL.
• Proficiency in multimedia, projection, Bluetooth, tuner and system infra components.
• Understanding Android boot sequence and framework architecture.
• Experience with Android HIDL interfaces and HAL/VHAL implementations.
• Familiarity with cross-compilation and toolchains for Android, QNX, Linux builds.
• Knowledge of build systems such as CMake, Gradle and Soong.
• MISRA C/C++ coding guidelines awareness.
• Strong Git version control usage and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement highly complex middleware solutions for customer deliveries.
• Develop Android-based IVI/Cockpit middleware spanning to framework components.
• Create and maintain middleware modules (multimedia, projection, Bluetooth, Tuner, etc.).
• Understand and work with Android boot sequence and framework module architectures.
• Implement HAL/VHAL with Android HIDL interfaces and customizations.
• Contribute across domains: startup/shutdown, fast boot, audio, HMI, sensors, SOTA, Diagnostics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Git and build tools.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Middleware Engineer, responsible for design, develop and implement highly complex middleware solutions to meet customer deliveries.

Product Experience and Technical Expertise:

• Expertise in C++ programming language with a strong focus on middleware development.
• Have experience in the design development of Android-based IVI/Cockpit solutions spanning into Frameworks/AOSP/HAL.
• Experience in designing and developing C++ based Infotainment middleware components (Multimedia, Projection, Bluetooth, Tuner, System Infrastructure, etc.) on android Platform
• Understanding of Android Boot Sequence and various Framework module architecture.
• Experience with Android HIDL interfaces and HAL/VHAL implementation and customizations
• Good understanding of cross-compilation and toolchains for Android, QNX, Linux build systems.
• Good understanding of build systems like Cmake, gradle, Soong,
• Should have expertise in multiple domains like startup/shutdown, fast boot, audio, multimedia, HMI, sensor integration, Vehicle SOTA, Diagnostics, AUTOSAR etc.,
• Automotive experience in Inter and intra-ECU IPC communications is necessary.
• Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g.: IPCL) and messaging frameworks.
• Proficient understanding of Object-Oriented Concepts and design patterns in C++
• Knowhow with coding guidelines/standards (e.g. MISRA C/C++)
• Familiarity with Android/Linux/QNX development toolchain, debugging tools like adb etc.
• Strong knowledge of Git version control system
