About the Role
As a Middleware Architect, you will:
- Lead development of Android middleware components (HAL, Binder IPC, service managers) for automotive features.
- Build and maintain Board Support Packages (BSP) using Yocto; integrate drivers and HALs into AOSP.
- Design infotainment features like navigation, voice recognition, and OTA updates.
- Optimize middleware for real‑time, low‑latency performance on embedded hardware.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to debug, test, and validate system reliability.
- Implement secure boot, encryption, and ensure compliance with Android CDD and cybersecurity standards.
- Stay ahead of trends in Android Automotive OS, RTOS/Linux hybrids, and middleware innovation.
- Mentor junior developers and document best practices.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in embedded systems and Android middleware development.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AOSP, HAL, SurfaceFlinger, AudioFlinger, and Android framework layers.
- Strong skills in C/C++, Java/Kotlin, JNI, and Binder.
- Experience with Linux kernel, RTOS, Yocto, and automotive protocols (CAN, MOST).
- Familiarity with debugging tools (GDB, Logcat, Valgrind) and performance profiling.
