We are looking for an experienced, open-minded, and creative QA Automation Engineer with either software development or a QA background and experience working with embedded devices. You will be working with embedded hardware on a daily basis, and your work will be focused primarily on this area.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in manual and automated testing of Embedded IoT solutions using Python and shell scripting on Linux platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Python with proven experience in developing automated tests and building test frameworks using Pytest, including fixtures, parametrize, conftest, and plugin‑based extensions.
• Hands‑on experience with IoT wireless protocol validation across gateways and end nodes, covering functional, performance, endurance, security, and integration testing.
• Commercial experience in manual testing with direct hardware interaction, including setting up, maintaining, and evolving hardware testbeds.
• Practical experience working with hardware interfaces such as UART, USB, HDMI, IP, or similar protocols.
• Experience supporting pre‑certification and compliance testing for US and European regulatory requirements, including collaboration with 3rd‑party equipment vendors.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to independently generate ideas and solutions, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job responsibilities

• Identify gaps in protocol test coverage and define new manual test case scenarios
• Design, implement, and execute manual and automated test cases for embedded IoT devices
• Validate wireless protocol behavior across IoT gateways and multiple end nodes
• Build, extend, and maintain test automation frameworks using Python and Pytest
• Set up, maintain, and evolve testbeds involving hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, I3C, USB, IP, etc.)
• Support pre‑certification and compliance testing for US, Europe, and regulatory bodies
• Collaborate with 3rd‑party equipment vendors for certification campaigns
• Analyze test results and work with developers/engineers for bug fixes and improvements
• Provide technical assessments to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Contribute to QA strategy definition and test campaign management
