Description

As a Microsoft Security Engineer, you will support the implementation and monitoring of Microsoft security solutions, including Defender XDR and Sentinel. You’ll contribute to threat detection, incident response, and automation through runbooks and content development.

Key Responsibilities

Security Deployment & Configuration

Assist in implementing security controls and policies across Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

Ensure proper configuration and baseline protection mechanisms for cloud workloads.

Participate in incident triage, investigation, and initial remediation activities under guidance from senior engineers.

Support threat detection and response operations, ensuring timely action on potential risks.

Document incidents, response actions, root causes, and lessons learned.

Automation & Content Development

Develop workbooks and dashboards for security visibility and reporting.

Build automation runbooks using Logic Apps and Playbooks for faster incident response.

Help integrate threat intelligence feeds into security monitoring systems.

Identity & Access Management

Assist in implementing IAM best practices, including role-based access and MFA policies.

Help secure accounts and monitor suspicious login or identity-based activities.

Cloud Security & Compliance

Support the implementation of cloud security posture management and vulnerability controls.

Monitor cloud environments for misconfiguration, security risks, and policy compliance.

Participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.

Support security audits, compliance reporting, and documentation preparation.

Ensure security configurations align with Microsoft standards, compliance policies, and organizational requirements.

Maintain clear, structured, and well-organized security documentation to support internal operations and audit requirements.

Work closely with senior security engineers on implementation and troubleshooting tasks.

Coordinate with internal IT teams and customers to issue resolution and security improvements.

Assist in communication during security incidents and operational reviews.

Learning & Development

Actively learn and upskill in Microsoft security technologies and certifications needed: SC-200, AZ-500, SC-300, SC-100.

Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
